Ring in the new year with freedom

Only 14 percent of Americans in the State of the latest survey by the first amendment of the first amendment Center can be the name of the Assembly as one of the basic five freedoms. But 2012 picking up just where the 2011 Assembly is often left off: in the news, if not our collective mindset.

Fresh from the movement “Occupy” tactics involving Plaza and Park, a public employee unions, educators and others to make plans for election rallies in many statehouses over the boundaries of collective bargaining, the right-to-work law and budget cuts. Anti-war demonstrations have become a staple state legislative session.

In October, protesters on both sides of the Rhode Island State pension-the revised plan a demonstration duel held to shout out their views. The meetings of the same make themselves heard from Maine to Maryland, Ohio, to Wisconsin, California to New Jersey. Beginning in 2011, Madison, Wis., tens of thousands of demonstrators occupied the statehouse space for more than three weeks.
